Earlier today, PocketGamer.biz wrote about a rumor of a “premium games” category coming soon to the iPhone App Store. The rumor said the category would be only open to select large publishers and the games would sell for $19.99.

Now, Slide to Play says it has “confirmed” the rumor, but does not know when the premium channel would be added. The article says “A publisher representative told us (on condition of anonymity) that Apple is prepping its major partners to produce “PSP-quality” games for the new category, and that the $19.99 price point is accurate.”
