Apple iPhones get ready: firmware version 2.2.1 is now available.

Via TUAW: “Apple has just updated the firmware for the iPhone and the iPod touch to 2.2.1. The list (at least for the iPod touch) looks like it is mostly bug fixes and stability improvements, but we’re still searching for a full list of all the changes.”

Mac Rumors says: “This update contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:
- Improved general stability of Safari
- Fixed issue where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in the Camera Roll”

And, tech-heads are still looking for an easter egg in the update with MobileCrunch saying: “Chances are other minor changes are lurking – first person to find’em gets a gold star and a box of animal crackers.

While I’ve seen some reports on Twitter that jailbroken iPhones are OK with the upgrade, the iPhone Dev Team has issued a warning to not update just yet.
